Mary Boehm has been President of A+ College Ready, a non-profit organization and a division of the A+ Education Partnership, since its inception in 2008. A+ College Ready was launched with a $13.2 million grant from the National Math and Science Initiative, and Mary has been instrumental in helping secure another $13 million in matching funds from public and private sources to implement the Advanced Placement (AP) Training and Incentive program for teachers and students in public high schools across the state. Mary was formerly President of the BellSouth Foundation with responsibility for grants and charitable giving in 9 states. She was also the Regional Vice President of the BellSouth Pioneers, the company’s volunteer arm. Prior to that, she was with the Alabama Power Foundation for 6 years. She is an alumnus of both Leadership Birmingham and Leadership Alabama. Mary received a BS degree from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She is married to Chris Boehm, and they have three sons and three grandchildren.

Liz Walston is the Director of Training for A+ College Ready. She attended Mountain Brook High School before going to the University of Alabama. She earned a master’s degree in Library and Information Sciences from the University of Alabama in 2012.


Teri Thompson is the Chief Program Officer for A+ College Ready. She joined the A+ team after retiring from the classroom in June of 2014. She taught high school English for 30 years, the last 10 of which she taught AP Literature. She has taught in Birmingham City, Montgomery County, Shelby County and Elmore County, and served as the Lead English teacher for Elmore County. Teri has also been an LTF English trainer for five years, as well as a Saturday Study Session presenter. She is married and has one son.

Jenifer Glover is the Finance Manager for A+ College Ready.

Frances Wilson is the Office Manager for A+ College Ready. She graduated from UAB with a degree in Elementary Education in 1988. She taught in Birmingham City Schools for 20 years, where she was named Teacher of the Year 2007-2008. She retired from teaching in October 2008. She has 3 daughters and 6 granddaughters.

Amber Haywood is the Training Assistant for A+ College Ready.


Diann Frucci Frucci is the English Content Director for A+ College Ready. She joined A+ College Ready 2013 after retiring from the classroom. Diann taught for 25 years at LAMP High School in Montgomery where she taught both AP English Literature and AP English Language. She served as department chair at LAMP, as English lead teacher for Montgomery Public School, and as an AP reader, and she has been an LTF trainer for seven years. Diann was named a NMSI All American Teacher in 2011 and the College Board’s AP Teacher of the Year for the Southeastern Region in 2012.

Pam Walker is the English Content Manager for A+ College Ready. She is a twenty-year veteran English teacher who has taught in both Georgia and Alabama public schools where her primary teaching roles have been freshman English and AP Language and Composition. She is an AP study session presenter and also a certified LTF trainer. Pam was named Elmore County Teacher of the Year for Secondary Schools for 2015-2016. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Language Arts Education from Auburn University in 1995. Pam is married and has three children.

Betsy Brooks is the English Literature Consultant for A+ College Ready.


Kitty Morgan
 is Math Content Director for A+ College Ready. She has taught AP Calculus AB and BC for 20 years. She was an AP Calculus Reader for 6 years and has presented at state, regional, and national conferences on math education. She attended Stanhope Elmore High School in Millbrook, AL, and earned a degree in math education from Troy University. She holds a master’s degree from UAB and earned National Board Certification in 2005. In addition to being the Math Content Director for A+ College Ready, Kitty is an instructor for teaching secondary math at Samford University for the 5th Year Program.

Lee Ann Latta is the Math Content Manager for A+ College Ready. She is a 19-year veteran in the Birmingham City system where she taught AP statistics and AP calculus. She was an AP math lead teacher and a department chair. She has been a National Math and Science Iinitiative / Laying The Foundation trainer for six years; she also presents at Saturday Study Sessions, ACT study sessions, and is AMSTI trained. She is married and has two daughters.

Carrie Bates is the Statistics Consultant for A+ College Ready.


Robert Summers
 is the Science Content Director for A+ College Ready. He taught for eight years at LAMP High School in Montgomery, AL, after a career in the medical field. He was the science department head and academic competitive teams head coach for five years while at LAMP. He has been with A+ College Ready from the beginning as the Science Content Director.

Chip Turner is the Science Content Manager for A+ College Ready. He is the son of a career naval officer and, as such, has lived on both coasts. He has more than 16 years of experience as a teacher, having taught Chemistry, Physics, Life Science and Physical Science. His last 13 years have been spent in the Jefferson County school system at Pleasant Grove, where he was initially trained in LTF as part of the very first cohort, eight years ago.

Debbie Anderson is the Chemistry Consultant for A+ College Ready. She is the Pre-AP/IB and AP/IB Chemistry teacher at JCIB High School in Jefferson County. Prior to teaching at JCIB, she taught Pre-AP and AP Chemistry at Hewitt-Trussville High School. She also has 15 years of experience working in clinical laboratories. She earned her bachelor’s degree in laboratory technology from Auburn University and her master’s in chemistry education from UAB.


Dale Fleury
 is the Social Studies Content Director for A+ College Ready. He has taught social studies for 24 years, including AP US Government and Politics and AP US History. He also was Vice President of LTF Business Development and Senior Director of Programs for the National Math and Science Initiative from 2007 to May of 2015. From 2001-2007, Dale was Social Studies Program Director for AP Strategies, Inc., the fore runner of what became the AP program model adopted by A+ College Ready. He has co-authored two books, the College Board's Vertical Teams Guide to Social Studies and Manual and Resources for Teaching AP Government. In 2014, Dale received the Governor of Arkansas Traveler’s Award for outstanding contribution to education in Arkansas from a non- resident. Dale has been married to his wife Theresa for 35 years and they have one son, David.

Carol Crawford currently serves as a Consultant to A+ College Ready. She was the Principal Developer of the National Math and Science Initiative (NMSI) Grant Proposal in 2007, which resulted in the award of the $13.2 million grant from NMSI and the formation of A+ College Ready. Crawford served as the Program Director from 2007 until her retirement from the Alabama State Department of Education (ALSDE) in 2010. Since retirement, Carol has successfully developed public and private grant applications as fundraising efforts for the Alabama Advanced Placement Training and Incentive Program (APTIP). She collaborated with the University of Alabama for the CS10K National Science Foundation Grant and is managing the sub-grant award for this project. Prior to Carol’s work with A+ College Ready, she held various positions within the ALSDE, including serving as a Coordinator with the Classroom Improvement Section of the SDE. Carol was a team leader for the Technical Assistance Team and a member of the Governor’s School-to-Work Partnership, which assisted in establishing Alabama’s School-to-Work Vision. Carol received both a Bachelor of Science in Education and a Master’s degree in Education from the University of Alabama in Birmingham.
