Lead Teachers:
English:
Diann Frucci has been teaching in Alabama schools for 24 years, 21 of which have been spent teaching AP English Language and Composition. Also, for 7 years within that 21-year period, she taught AP English Literature and Composition concurrently with the AP Language course. Ms. Frucci teaches at Loveless Academic Magnet Program High School, identified as one of Newsweek’s 150 Best American High Schools, in the Montgomery Public Schools, where she serves as English Department Head. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Ms. Frucci has been a part of the state AP initiative program as one of the APTIP Language team leaders at the University of Alabama.
Math:
Kelley Rouze has been teaching for 22 years in Montgomery Public Schools including 13 years of junior high school experience and 9 years of high school experience. She has been teaching AP Calculus AB and BC for 9 years. Ms. Rouze is a National Board Certified Teacher and has been a Mathematics Finalist State Teacher of the Year. She also participates in the AP Instructional Team Program at the University of Alabama and served as department chair for her school’s math department.
Science:
Amy Albritton earned a BS and MS degree in Secondary Education, biology, and psychology from Auburn University in Montgomery. With over twenty one years of classroom experience in science education, She joins the Laying the Foundation team as a teacher trainer. She currently teaches as an adjunct for the Biology Department at Troy University-Montgomery campus. Amy has worked extensively with the Student Assessment division of the SDE where she facilitated the Content Review Committee for the Alabama High School Graduation Exam. She created a series of remedial, tutorial videos for the students and teachers’ of Elmore County. Amy also has two years of experience managing Alabama’s Science in Motion through the SDE. Amy will begin the 2009-2010 school year by teaching her seventh year of AP biology.
